I know this might be controversial, but expensive clothes don’t automatically create style.

Why? Because sometimes they actually make it harder.

When something costs more, we expect it to do more for us. We expect to feel different in it. More confident. More put together.

And when we don’t?
We start questioning ourselves instead of the clothes.

I’ve heard so many women say, “I love it… I just don’t know if I’m enough for it.” That breaks my heart a little every time. Clarity will always do more than just spending more money.

That’s why I believe style is the real luxury. Not fashion.

I used to follow a lot of style “rules.”

No horizontal stripes.
No flats if you want to look polished.
Certain cuts for certain ages.

Most of them weren’t even mine, you know. I’d just absorbed them somewhere along the way.

The problem with style rules isn’t that they’re always wrong. It’s that they slowly teach you not to trust yourself. And once you stop trusting yourself, getting dressed becomes heavier than it needs to be.
