Hate Shopping—Your not alone!

Many of my clients dread shopping, but that doesn’t imply they lack style.

Often, the experience of shopping in Hong Kong can simply be too much to handle:

  • Overwhelming options (such as online)

  • Or at times, it may be due to a lack of aligned resources or opportunities

  • Excessive pressure and opinions

  • A lack of clear direction

I once had a client who expressed, “I hate shopping; I avoid it like the plague.” As we talked, it became evident why she felt this way. She would enter a store already prepared for disappointment, comparing herself to mannequins, second-guessing every decision, and assuming that if something didn’t fit, it meant she wasn’t worthy of the clothes.

What resonated with me wasn’t her sense of style; it was her hesitation and the expectation of a negative experience.

Each rack felt like an exam for which she hadn’t prepared.

When shopping becomes stressful, it often indicates a lack of support in the decision-making process. Without a system in place, even the best options can feel overwhelming.

You’re not flawed for feeling this way; you’re simply human!

Yet, it doesn’t have to be this difficult. Let’s chat to discover how to stop the overwhelm and making shopping fun again!
